  • General Description: Each dataset is associated with one participant of the study, and it contains three datafiles.

    - Barumerli2023 Auditory Model Output:
Output data from the Barumerli2023 auditory model used to select the best and the worst non-individual head-related transfer functions (HRTFs). target_HRTF column indicates the target HRTF used for comparison with the template_HRTF (individual HRTF). 300 responses were computed for each target direction, and each row in the table shows aggregated metrics across these 300 responses. rmsP column represents the root mean square local polar error (PE), and querr represents the quadrant error (QE), according to Middlebrooks (1999).

    - Localisation Test Data:
Participant responses from the static sound localisation experiment. 'Repetition' column corresponds to the test block ('-1' indicates a free-field training with loudspeakers and 0-2 are three test blocks), 'HRTF' column indicates the HRTF used for each trial, 'HRTFidx' represents the HRTF condition (0: free-field training, 1: individual, 2: best non-individual, 3: worst non-individual). 'azi_target' and 'ele_target' columns correspond to the azimuth and elevation of the target sound source, while 'azi_response' and 'ele_response' columns represent the participant's response in spherical coordinates. For the training block (-1), 'correctionTrial' indicates whether the trial was a repetition of the same sound source (up to 2 repetitions were used).

    - Spatial Audio Quality Test Data:
Data from spatial audio quality assessments. Each row corresponds to a randomised trial with a specific sound stimulus ('AudioClip') and a randomised order of the three Test Conditions ('Test1', 'Test2', 'Test3'). Participants rated the perceived spatial audio quality of each condition on a scale from 0 to 1 (for 'Difference' and 'Other' attributes) or -1 to 1 (for all other attributes), with 0 corresponding to no difference from the Reference (individual) HRTF condition.
